IF a user is having trouble with the network connection failing to connect to the LAN when connected please try manually setting the Primary & Secondary DNS Server IP Addresses:
- Get the affected User to save all files etc
- If they are connected to any WiFi please disconnect them
- Restart the PC
- Log in as administrator
- Navigate to the Network Card settings this will vary depending on OS (WIN10 or WIN11)
WIN10
- Find the network/Globe icon in the bottom right of the screen
- Right click and select open network settings
- Then find Change Adaptor Settings and click
- Now in the opened dialog right click on the ETHERNET card icon
- Select Properties
- Then in the opened dialogue scroll down to find
- Highlight it and then select the PROPERTIES Button
- Then in this opened Dialog box please look for DNS Server Settings and select Use the following DNS Server Settings
- Enter the following
- PRIMARY: 192.168.51.15
- SECONDARY: 192.168.51.16
- Check Validate settings on exit
- Click OK and restart PC
- Log back into PC as administrator to check the LAN is now functioning
- Restart and get the user to login as themselves and check that it is still functioning
- If it is all Done If not try WiFi as a fallback option.
